This is a full-time opportunity suited to a senior fabricator or welder looking to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on. Reporting to the Workshop Production Manager, you\u2019ll lead from the floor, support the team, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What you\u2019ll be doing:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing hands-on fabrication, welding, and container modification work<\/li>\n<li>Supervising and supporting fabricators, trade assistants, and contractors on the workshop floor<\/li>\n<li>Allocating and prioritising daily tasks in line with production requirements<\/li>\n<li>Providing real-time technical guidance and troubleshooting support<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring all work is completed safely and meets quality standards<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with short-term workflow planning and job scheduling<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring team productivity and addressing workflow issues<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating with the Workshop Production Manager on job progress and priorities<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are ready for upcoming work<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop<\/li>\n<li>Supporting safety compliance and maintaining high workshop standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>What you\u2019ll need:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong fabrication and welding experience, particularly with structural steel<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans<\/li>\n<li>Experience in container modification or heavy fabrication (highly regarded)<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience as a Leading Hand or in a senior trade-based role<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of workflow coordination and job scheduling<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices<\/li>\n<li>Confident leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a team<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on, practical approach with a willingness to lead by example<\/li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving ability and a solutions-focused mindset<\/li>\n<li>Reliable, decisive, and confident in directing others<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with management and team members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>What\u2019s in it for you:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, stable opportunity with long-term potential<\/li>\n<li>Leadership role with the ability to stay hands-on<\/li>\n<li>Supportive team environment with a strong workshop culture<\/li>\n<li>Overtime opportunities available<\/li>\n<li>The chance to take ownership and make a real impact on workshop operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>How to apply:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To complete your application for this position please click on the &quot;APPLY&quot; button.
