Frequently Asked Questions

What FIFO jobs do you recruit for?

We recruit for blue-collar FIFO jobs, including heavy diesel mechanics, mechanical fitters, electricians, boilermakers, riggers, mobile plant operators, dozer and grader operators, and MC truck drivers.

Can I get a FIFO job with no experience?

The roles we recruit for usually need a trade qualification, an operator ticket or a heavy vehicle licence, plus some experience in your field. Previous FIFO experience helps but isn't always required. If you're new to FIFO, send us your resume and we'll let you know which roles you're a fit for.

What tickets and licences do I need?

It depends on the role. Truck drivers need the right heavy vehicle licence, such as an MC licence. Plant operators usually need a ticket or recognised competency for the machine. Tradespeople need their trade qualification, and electricians need a current electrical licence. Many sites also need site-specific inductions, and construction sites need a White Card.

What do FIFO rosters look like?

Rosters are set by each employer. Common examples include 2 weeks on and 1 week off, and 8 days on and 6 days off. We'll tell you the roster for each job before you apply.

What happens before I start a FIFO job?

Most sites need a pre-employment medical, a drug and alcohol test and a site induction before your first swing. We'll also confirm your point of hire, which is where you fly from, as this depends on the employer.
