Leading Hand Horticulturist

Our client is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Landscaper to join their commercial landscape maintenance team across Perth. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified horticulturist who enjoys working outdoors, leading a small team and maintaining high standards across prominent public spaces.

The successful candidate will work across commercial sites, including train stations and public areas around Osborne Park and Perth’s southern suburbs. This is a hands-on position requiring someone who can complete landscape maintenance duties while coordinating the daily activities of other team members.

This is not a purely supervisory position. Our client is looking for someone who is comfortable working alongside the team, allocating duties and ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing hands-on leadership to a small landscaping team
• Allocating daily duties and coordinating work across different sites
• Completing commercial landscape and garden maintenance
• Mowing lawns, pruning trees and shrubs, weeding and maintaining garden beds
• Planting, turf installation and general horticultural work
• Operating landscaping tools and equipment safely
• Identifying plant diseases, pests and general maintenance requirements
• Supporting the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems

What you’ll need:

• Certificate III in Horticulture
• Previous commercial landscaping, gardening or grounds-maintenance experience
• Previous experience as a Leading Hand or supervising a small team
• Strong practical knowledge of plants, garden maintenance and landscaping equipment
• A full WA driver’s licence
• A current White Card where required for the sites
• The ability to work effectively in public and high-traffic environments
• A reliable, hands-on and professional approach
• Experience working at train stations, public spaces or other commercial sites would be highly regarded.
