Transport Scheduler

Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Scheduler to join their busy transport and logistics operation in Brisbane. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong scheduling and fleet coordination experience who can work confidently in a fast-paced environment.

The role will suit someone who is organised, solutions-focused and comfortable making quick decisions when plans change. You will work closely with drivers, customers, subcontractors and internal teams to keep daily transport operations running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing:

• Scheduling and coordinating daily transport movements, deliveries and collections
• Allocating drivers and vehicles efficiently
• Planning loads and maximising fleet utilisation and payloads
• Monitoring deliveries and ensuring customer delivery windows and KPIs are met
• Making quick scheduling changes when delays, breakdowns or other issues occur
• Liaising with drivers, customers, subcontractors and internal operations teams
• Monitoring driver hours and fatigue requirements
• Maintaining accurate information in transport management systems
• Completing administration relating to billing, payroll, revenue capture and operational reporting
• Assisting with fleet and maintenance scheduling
• Ensuring transport activities are carried out safely and in line with relevant requirements

What you’ll need:

• Previous experience in transport scheduling, allocation or fleet control
• Experience working in a busy transport or logistics environment
• Strong understanding of Australian heavy vehicle compliance
• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, mass/load restraint and transport legislation
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Ability to manage changing priorities and make decisions under pressure
• Good Excel, computer and transport management system skills
• Confident communication skills when dealing with drivers, customers and internal teams
• Strong attention to detail
• Full working rights in Australia
