Control Room Manager

Are you an experienced Security or Control Room Manager looking for your next career opportunity within the mining sector?We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the mining industry for an experienced Control Room Manager to take responsibility for the effective management and oversight of Control Room operations.This is a hands-on management position suited to a strong security professional who is confident in leading teams, managing incidents, engaging with clients and ensuring that security operations are delivered to the required standards.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Control Room operations, personnel management, CCTV and surveillance, investigations, incident management, reporting, training, compliance and client liaison, while ensuring that effective security and emergency procedures are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily Control Room operations
  • Lead, manage and develop Control Room personnel
  • Oversee CCTV monitoring and surveillance activities
  • Manage security and safety-related incidents and investigations
  • Review incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up
  • Compile and review operational reports
  • Ensure contractual and operational compliance
  • Develop and maintain effective security procedures and structures
  • Coordinate and facilitate staff training
  • Manage staff performance, attendance, leave and disciplinary matters
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Develop and execute emergency and safety response plans
  • Monitor Control Room performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure effective communication and dispatch of information/instructions
  • Maintain accurate operational records and database information

Requirements:

  • PSIRA Grade A – ESSENTIAL
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Security/Safety Management
  • Proven Control Room Management experience
  • Previous Mining Industry experience – ESSENTIAL
  • CCTV Monitoring Certification
  • CCTV Training & Certification
  • Knowledge and understanding of SABS ISO 9001
  • Strong knowledge of current security threats, industry trends and security technology
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Own reliable transport
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends and after-hours when required
  • Excellent English and Afrikaans communication skills
  • Strong report-writing, investigation and incident-management abilities

We are looking for a strong, decisive and experienced security professional who can operate independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will have the ability to lead a Control Room team, manage high-pressure incidents, conduct investigations, maintain effective surveillance, engage confidently with the client and ensure compliance with site security procedures.

Strong leadership, communication, administration and problem-solving skills are essential.
