Our client is seeking a qualified Fitter who is passionate about customer service and has a strong interest in assembling, maintaining and fault-finding on hydraulic systems in both industrial and mobile applications.
The successful candidate will be eager to learn, develop their technical skills and contribute effectively as part of a team.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation.
- Perform diagnostic tests on functioning machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Conduct fault-finding on hydraulic systems.
- Repair and replace equipment and components as required.
- Commission hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Read, interpret and understand hydraulic circuits.
- Apply sound technical knowledge of mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.
- Provide professional customer service and technical support.
- Work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
- Participate in overtime, standby duties and occasional travel as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-Matric qualification or N3.
- Qualified Fitter with a Red Seal Trade Test – essential.
- Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar technical role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with hydraulic systems will be a strong advantage.
- Sound knowledge of mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
- Medically fit to perform the duties of the position.
- Willingness to work overtime, participate in standby and travel when required.
