Fitter (Hydraulic)

Our client is seeking a qualified Fitter who is passionate about customer service and has a strong interest in assembling, maintaining and fault-finding on hydraulic systems in both industrial and mobile applications.
The successful candidate will be eager to learn, develop their technical skills and contribute effectively as part of a team.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation.
  • Perform diagnostic tests on functioning machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Conduct fault-finding on hydraulic systems.
  • Repair and replace equipment and components as required.
  • Commission hydraulic systems and equipment.
  • Read, interpret and understand hydraulic circuits.
  • Apply sound technical knowledge of mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.
  • Provide professional customer service and technical support.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
  • Participate in overtime, standby duties and occasional travel as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-Matric qualification or N3.
  • Qualified Fitter with a Red Seal Trade Test – essential.
  • Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar technical role.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems will be a strong advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
  • Medically fit to perform the duties of the position.
  • Willingness to work overtime, participate in standby and travel when required.
