Minimum Requirements
- Relevant IT / Information Systems / Computer Science / Network Administration / IT Support qualification.
- 3–5 years’ practical IT Technician / IT Support experience.
- Hands-on Zoho administration experience – MANDATORY.
- Practical MDM experience – MANDATORY.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365/Office experience.
- Working knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, backups and IT asset management.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the organisation’s IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Zoho Systems Administration – Mandatory
- Provide day-to-day administration and technical support across Zoho platforms, including relevant Zoho One application.
- Manage user profiles, roles, permissions, access rights, account configurations and employee onboarding/offboarding access.
- Troubleshoot Zoho user, workflow, application and integration issues; maintain data accuracy and system integrity.
- Support reports, dashboards, forms, workflows, data imports/exports and system integrations where applicable.
- Provide user guidance and liaise with Zoho support or external service providers for escalated technical matters
Mobile Device Management (MDM) – Mandatory
- Administer, enrol, configure and manage all company-issued smartphones, tablets and other supported endpoints through the applicable Zoho/MDM environment.
- Conduct daily monitoring of managed devices, including online/offline status, compliance, security alerts, operating-system updates, enrolment status and device health.
- Identify inactive, non-compliant, compromised, lost, stolen or unaccounted-for devices and escalate material risks immediately.
- Apply approved security policies, password controls, screen-lock requirements, application controls and device restrictions.
- Deploy and update approved applications remotely; troubleshoot enrolment, synchronisation and access issues.
- Where authorised, lock, locate, restrict or remotely wipe devices in cases of loss, theft, termination or identified security risk.
- Maintain accurate MDM and device records, including assigned user, department, IMEI/serial number, status and return/decommissioning details.
Hardware, Software & End-User Support
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, peripherals and other IT equipment.
- Diagnose hardware faults, coordinate repairs/replacements and configure new equipment for employees.
- Install, update and support approved software, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 environments.
- Respond to user support requests; resolve hardware, software, email, access and system-related issues within reasonable turnaround times.
- Maintain IT support records and escalate complex issues to approved service providers when required.
Database, Network & Connectivity Support
- Support company databases and information systems, including user permissions, data access, imports/exports, integrity and backup requirements.
- Provide first-line LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and internet support; troubleshoot connectivity and liaise with service providers regarding outages.
- Assist with routers, switches, wireless access points, VPN/remote access and secure network connectivity for company device
Cybersecurity, Backups & Information Protection
- Install, configure, maintain, monitor and regularly update approved antivirus and endpoint-protection software across all staff work devices, including desktops, laptops and other supported endpoints; ensure protection remains active, current and compliant.
- Monitor and report suspicious activity, malware, unauthorised access, security incidents and potential data breaches.
- Support password security, multi-factor authentication, cybersecurity awareness and phishing-prevention initiatives.
- Monitor critical backups, verify completion and support data restoration, disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and support information security and data-protection controls, including applicable POPIA requirements.
IT Asset, Email, Cloud & Vendor Management
- Maintain an accurate IT asset register covering hardware, software, licences, subscriptions, warranties and assigned users.
- Track equipment allocation, movement, return, replacement, disposal and secure data wiping during offboarding.
- Administer and troubleshoot company email, shared mailboxes, cloud storage, file sharing and communication platforms.
- Liaise with approved IT suppliers and service providers; obtain quotations and monitor outstanding technical matters where required
Management Reporting & Escalation
- Provide regular IT status reports to Management and the CEO, including MDM/device compliance, IT incidents, asset status, hardware failures, software/licence requirements, connectivity issues, backups and cybersecurity risks.
- Maintain records of material incidents, corrective actions and recurring technical problems, and recommend permanent improvements.
- Immediately escalate critical matters, including suspected cyber or data breaches, lost/stolen devices, critical network/system failures, MDM security alerts, backup failures, malware/ransomware and significant Zoho outages.
