Office Manager – Shipping + Stock Control Exprience

Our international mining client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Office Manager to oversee the effective day-to-day administration and operations of its office. This is a hands-on role suited to an individual who combines strong people management and administrative skills with some exposure to shipping, logistics, stock control, warehouse or stores operations.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the office runs efficiently while coordinating people, suppliers, documentation, stock and operational activities.

Key Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12; relevant tertiary qualification advantageous.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an Office Manager, Administration Manager, Operations Administrator or similar role.
  • Proven experience managing and supervising staff.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Some experience or knowledge of shipping, logistics, and stock control, warehouse or stores management.
  • Good understanding of stock movement, inventory records and operational documentation.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Office.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience working in a mining, engineering, industrial, logistics or international business environment would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and administration of the office.
  • Lead, supervise and motivate office and support staff.
  • Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance and ensure high levels of accountability.
  • Coordinate office administration, facilities, equipment and general operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and reports.
  • Assist with stock control, inventory management and stores administration.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and related documentation where required.
  • Liaise with freight companies, couriers, suppliers and other service providers.
  • Assist with the coordination of imports, exports, deliveries and collections.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure accurate recording and movement of inventory.
  • Ensure that office, warehouse/stores and operational procedures are followed.
  • Assist with purchasing, supplier management and the procurement of office and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with management and other departments to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions.
