Residence Manager | Student Accommodation

We are looking for an experienced Residence Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of a dynamic student accommodation residence, lead the residence team and deliver an exceptional student living experience.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the residence, ensuring a safe, well-maintained and compliant environment.
  • Manage and develop the residence team, including the Assistant Residence Manager and handyman.
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, inspections, contractors and service providers.
  • Manage student queries, complaints, incidents and general student affairs.
  • Support the student journey from intake and check-in through to inspections and check-out.
  • Assist with budgets, reporting, compliance and stakeholder management, while identifying opportunities to improve the residence and student experience.

 
What you’ll need:

  • Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience, including at least 4 years in a management/supervisory role
  • Student accommodation experience is essential
  • Matric / Grade 12 + relevant qualification in Property Management, Facilities Management, Building Management or a related field
  • Strong understanding of property operations and facilities management
  • Proven experience managing teams, contractors and service providers
  • Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant systems
  • Must be willing to live on site
