MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL:
- BSc Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Graduate Route:
- 2–3 years’ relevant working experience.
- Experience in petroleum, petrochemical, oil & gas, refining, chemical manufacturing, energy, process or similar industrial environments is highly advantageous.
OR
Intern Route:
- Currently studying towards an Honours in Chemical Engineering, OR
- Completed a BSc Chemical Engineering and seeking practical industry exposure.
- Vacation work, industrial training or relevant project experience advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support technical, engineering and business-related projects.
- Apply Chemical Engineering principles to practical challenges.
- Assist with data analysis, investigations and problem-solving.
- Support process and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and performance.
- Work with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Gain exposure to Operations, Manufacturing, Technical, Quality, SHEQ, Projects, Supply Chain and Commercial functions.
- Prepare reports, technical documentation and presentations.
- Develop practical engineering and business skills through on-the-job exposure.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Analytical with strong problem-solving ability.
- Technically minded with good numerical ability.
- Proficient in MS Excel and computer literate.
- Adaptable and comfortable working across different functions.
- Eager to learn, contribute and develop professionally.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates residing in Umhlanga, Durban North, La Lucia and surrounding areas will be advantageous.
