Contract Manager – Glass & Aluminium

We are looking for a Contracts Manager with experience in the glass and aluminium industry. Strong project management skills and attention to detail are essential for this role. Successful candidate will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery and commercial management of glass and aluminium construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or Senior Site Management role within construction
  • 5–10+ years’ direct glass and aluminium construction experience will be highly advantageous
  • Experience with aluminium fabrication and installation, glass installation, shopfronts, curtain walling and façades
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JBCC
  • Experience managing variations, claims and extensions of time
  • Strong project planning, programming and cost-control experience
  • Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and installation teams
  • Strong client and main contractor relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of construction quality and health & safety requirements
  • Relevant Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Civil Engineering or Project Management qualification advantageous
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence required
  • Own reliable transport advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple glass and aluminium construction projects from contract award through to completion and handover
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, profitability and resources
  • Coordinate factory, procurement, logistics and installation activities
  • Manage clients, main contractors, consultants, subcontractors and site teams
  • Identify and manage variations, claims and EOTs
  • Monitor project costs and protect project margins
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor installation progress and quality
  • Manage project risks, delays, defects and technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, quality and health & safety requirements
  • Provide regular project and commercial reports to senior management
