Senior Draughtsman

We have an exciting position available for a Senior Draughtsman to be based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The ideal candidate will have strong technical draughting experience within the glass, aluminium, glazing and façade industry, with the ability to produce detailed drawings from concept through to fabrication and installation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Draughtsman within the façade, glazing, curtain walling, windows, doors and architectural aluminium industry
    • Minimum 5 years’ practical experience using AutoCAD
    • Advanced AutoCAD proficiency
    • Proven ability to produce detailed 2D technical drawings
    • Proven experience producing fabrication, assembly and installation drawings
    • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings
    • Practical understanding of aluminium and glass systems
    • Knowledge of South African building regulations and applicable industry standards

    Advantageous:

    • Relevant Draughting, Architectural Technology or Engineering qualification
    • Manufacturing environment experience
    • Experience working directly with aluminium fabricators
    • Experience on large commercial façade projects
    • High-rise building experience
    • Experience coordinating with architects and engineers
    • Experience with Revit, SolidWorks, BIM or other 3D CAD software
