Junior Accountant

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field will be a plus
• 2–4 years’ accounting experience in a retail environment.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
• Experience working on an accounting system such as Sage, Pastel, SAP, or similar.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure

Key Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile bank accounts and cashbooks.
• Prepare and process journals and general ledger reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and month-end processes.
• Reconcile creditors and debtors accounts.
• Process invoices and ensure accurate financial record keeping.
• Assist with VAT calculations and statutory submissions.
• Prepare financial reports and analyse data using Microsoft Excel.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist with external and internal audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team.
