Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their Accounts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, maintaining client relationships and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review bank, customer and supplier reconciliations
- Prepare customer and supplier invoices
- Maintain the Fixed Assets Register
- Prepare Management Accounts
- Complete stock reconciliations
- Manage payroll, including fringe benefits, allowances and bargaining council requirements
- Prepare and process PAYE, VAT and UIF returns
- Assist junior accounting staff with accounting queries and processes
- Liaise with clients and respond to queries professionally
- Ensure statutory and internal deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate and confidential financial records
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation and company policies
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and generate additional revenue
Minimum Requirements
- CA(SA) qualification completed through SAICA
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- PGDA / CTA
- Matric
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting practice
- Valid Driver’s Licence
