Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 (minimum requirement)
- 3–5 years’ experience supervising a production line, shift, or manufacturing team
- Experience in a small to medium manufacturing environment
- Exposure to GMP, ISO, medical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, technical textile, packaging, or regulated manufacturing environments advantageous
- Strong understanding of production flow, line discipline, quality control, documentation, housekeeping, and safety standards
- Ability to manage operators, general workers, and contract staff effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear, structured instructions
- High attention to detail with strong follow-through and escalation ability
- Computer literacy (Google Workspace advantageous)
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, operational production environment
Key Responsibilities:
Production Line Supervision
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure output targets, quality standards, and deadlines are met
- Translate production plans into clear daily tasks for the team
- Allocate work effectively and monitor performance throughout shifts
- Identify and escalate bottlenecks, downtime, material shortages, or quality issues early
- Ensure production starts on time and remains structured, productive, and efficient
People Leadership & Discipline
- Lead by example in professionalism, punctuality, and work ethic
- Maintain discipline, focus, and accountability on the production line
- Provide clear instructions and ensure team understanding
- Coach and support operators and junior staff
- Escalate performance or behavioural issues where required
Quality, GMP & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to approved processes, work instructions, and GMP standards
- Maintain accurate and timely completion of batch records, cleaning logs, and production documentation
- Support right-first-time production and reduce rework, scrap, and non-conformance
- Work closely with QA/QC to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Safety, Housekeeping & Line Readiness
- Ensure production areas are clean, safe, and fully prepared before production begins
- Confirm PPE, tools, materials, and documentation are in place
- Enforce housekeeping and line clearance standards throughout production
- Report and escalate safety, equipment, or process risks immediately
Continuous Improvement
- Support problem-solving, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives
- Assist in cross-functional collaboration with Production, QC, Stores, Engineering, and R&D
- Contribute to building a structured, disciplined, and scalable manufacturing environment
