Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric
- Stock control, Logistics or Supply Chain qualification will be considered
- 2-3 years' experience in stock control, warehousing or food manufacturing preferred
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment
- Experience working with an ERP or stock management systems
- Experience working in a Halal-certified environment
Responsibilities:
Stock Control duties:
- Responsible for maintaining accurate control, identification, traceability and movement of all raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress and finished products
- Maintain accurate physical and system stock records
- Receive, issue, transfer and reconcile stock accurately
- Ensure all stock movements are recorded promptly and correctly
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly stock counts as required
- Be present for the mandatory year end stock take
- Investigate and report stock variances
- Maintain accurate stock balances for:
- Raw materials
- Ingredients
- Packaging materials
- Work-in-progress
- Finished products
- Consumables
- Cleaning and production-related materials
- Ensure stock is stored in the correct designated areas
- Prevent unauthorised movement or use of stock
FIFO/FEFO
- Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) and, where applicable. FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles
- Monitor expiry dates and shelf life
- Identify slow-moving, short-dated. obsolete or excess stock
- Escalate products approaching expiry
- Ensure production uses the correct batches according to agreed stock rotation requirements
Halal Requirements:
- Ensure only approved Halal raw materials, ingredients and packaging are received and issued for production
- Verify that incoming materials are correctly identified and appropriately documented
- Maintain segregation of Halal-approved, non-approved, rejected, quarantined and/or on-hold materials where applicable
- Ensure materials are not incorrectly substituted or issued
- Immediately report any material where Halal status approval or documentation is unclear
- Maintain traceability or raw materials and ingredients from receipt through production
- Ensure stock identification and labelling are maintained throughout storage movement
- Comply with all company Halal procedures and requirements of the applicable Halal certification body
- Support Halal audits and provide required stock. traceability and movement records
- Immediately report any suspected compromise of Halal integrity to QA/Technical Management
- Work collaboratively with Production, QA, Technical, Procurement and Management
